The holiday season is filled with joy for many people as they get ready for a certain man in a red suit to make an appearance in their homes. Santa has a special place in the hearts of children everywhere, and you can’t help but smile when you see that sparkle in a child’s eye as they get to talk with the big man himself. One Santa in particular makes an extended stop at The Gaylord Texan each year. He is kind, jolly, and everything you would imagine Santa to be. Sometimes getting out to see Santa is difficult, so the Gaylord Texan decided to take Santa on the road to those who could not get out to see him. From this, The Joy Project was created.

The Gaylord Texan, a Marriott Property, is a proud partner of Cook Children’s Medical Center and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Their devotion to children is astounding and their generosity goes above the normal call of duty. Marriott International has been a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital partner for over 30 years and continues to show their commitment in everything they do. The Gaylord Texan is no exception. The Joy Project brought Santa to several children who were receiving dialysis one Saturday morning. He spent time with each child and left them with so much more than a smile. He brought joy and excitement which is exactly what this project aimed to do.
